East Hartford’s NEFCO, which provides construction supply products and services to professional contractors, has acquired a Louisiana-based business.
STS Industrial, which is family owned and headquartered in Sulphur, Louisiana, supplies fasteners, pipe, valves and fittings as well as other parts and tools to oil and gas operators, chemical facilities, and manufacturing customers across the U.S.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
NEFCO says that the Gulf region represents a major growth opportunity for the company, and the addition of STS positions the Connecticut company to deliver to a new marketplace.
“STS has been a respected supplier with deep roots in the Gulf region, and their expertise and culture align directly with NEFCO’s focus on speed, service, and technical solutions for contractors,” said Matthew Gelles, CEO of NEFCO.
NEFCO says that STS Industrial will continue operating as usual while introducing NEFCO’s expanded product portfolio and services to its customers.
The acquisition is just the latest in a string of expansions for the Connecticut company. In the last two years it has opened new locations in Ohio and South Carolina, and made acquisitions in Texas, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Arizona.
