Connecticut’s Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) reopened its 143-acre state park in East Haddam to the public this month after closing it to clear out unsafe buildings last year.
Sunrise State Park contractors removed dozens of small cabins and support buildings that made recreational activities in the area unsafe. DEEP announced the reopening of the park to the public on June 3.
Sunrise State Park is opened from 8 a.m. to sunset every day.
