East Granby manufacturer buys former Travelers Cos. laboratory building in Windsor for $1.6M

A limited liability company tied to advanced manufacturer Joining Industries recently paid $1.6 million for a 33,364-square-foot Windsor building that previously served as laboratory space for The Travelers Cos.

The Travelers Indemnity Co. sold the 58-year-old, concrete-block-sided building on 4.8 acres at 90 Lamberton Road to 90 Lamberton LLC in a a deal logged by the town on Dec. 15.

The buying LLC principals are Joining Industries CEO David Hudson and Michael Francoeur, chairman of its board of directors.

Travelers paid $2.15 million for the building in 2016.

Travelers has built new and upgraded lab space at its Travelers Claims University building across the street, at 99 Lamberton Road.

Joel Grieco and Damon Bowers of real estate brokerage Cushman & Wakefield brokered for the seller.

Grieco said the flexible building had been well-maintained by Travelers and is located a short distance from Interstate 91, prompting multiple offers from investors and potential users.
