More than 200 people waited in line early Friday — some since Thursday afternoon — in front of Westfarms’ Apple store and several of the mall’s other retail telecom outlets to be the first to buy new iPhone 4s.
Apple, AT&T Experience Store, Verizon and Sprint. Retailers carrying the product had early openings at 8 a.m. Friday to accommodate the demand, said mall spokeswoman Amanda May Sirica.
Nationwide, millions more consumers clogged telecom outlets to lay hands on the iPhone 4s.
At Westfarms, the first person in line at Apple arrived Thursday at 12:30 p.m., Sirica said.
All four stores selling the highly anticipated smartphone will be open until 9:30 Friday night, she said.
