Canada-based design consulting firm Stantec, which has offices in Hartford and New Haven, said it has agreed to acquire an engineering and environmental firm that has an East Windsor office.
Headquartered in Burlington, Mass., Fay, Spofford & Thorndike has 280 employees in nine offices spread across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and New York. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Stantec has approximately 1,200 employees across its 11 New England offices. It has 6,500 employees in the U.S.
FST offers engineering, planning and environmental consulting services. FST’s Greater Hartford projects include the 7,000-foot Quinnipiac River Linear Trail in Meriden and an upgrade of emergency generators and other equipment at the Connecticut Veterans’ Home in Rocky Hill, among others.
FST CEO Peter J. Howe said in a statement that the deal would allow his firm to offer enhanced services to its clients.
Stantec expects the sale to close in October.
