Torrington businessman A. Gregory Bachmann, president of Dymax Corporation Inc., is the Small Business Administration’s “Connecticut Small Business Person of the Year.”
“Greg’s leadership and consistency to lead Dymax into greater successes for decades to come is why he is being given this prestigious award” Connecticut SBA District Director Bernard Sweeney said in a statement.
Dymax was originally founded as the American Chemical and Engineering Co. in 1979 by Bachmann’s family. It later expanded with the purchase of the Specialty Chemical Co. division of Allied Products Corp.
The company’s core products are a patented line of structural adhesives used in production of electric motors.
Bachmann will be honored May 24, along with seven other small business award winners, at an awards breakfast at Amarante’s Sea Cliff in New Haven.
