After eight years at Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., Neal Wolin is returning to Washington, D.C. to serve as a senior advisor to President Barack Obama.
Wolin has accepted the post in the White House as deputy counsel to the president for economic policy. He previously served as general counsel of the Treasury Department during the Clinton administration.
Wolin joined The Hartford in 2001 as executive vice president and general counsel. He was promoted to president and chief operating officer of the company’s property and casualty operations in 2007.
“Given the importance of the issues facing the country, there is no greater honor than being called to serve,” Wolin said.
