Footwear retail chain DSW Inc. said it plans to open a store in Newington.
Set to open March 6, the approximately 18,000-square-foot store will employ between 30 and 40 workers at 1596 Southeast Road in Newington West Farms Center, the same plaza that houses a Babies “R” Us and a Bed Bath & Beyond, the Columbus, Ohio, retailer said Thursday.
The DSW space, until a few years ago, was a Lillian August furnishings showroom.
DSW has seven other Connecticut stores in Plainville, Manchester, Enfield, North Haven, Orange, Danbury and Waterford.
