Wilton beverage distributor Drinks Americas Holdings Ltd. says it won a $665,000 arbitration award against a Florida-based liquor wholesaler who claimed breach of contract.
Liquor Group Holdings, a global beverage wholesaler based in Jacksonville, Fla., lodged the claim against Drinks Americas, which distributes Rheingold beer and other brands.
Arbitrator denied Liquor Group’s claims, but did find that the plaintiff breached the contract for failing to pay for alcohol it received from Drinks Americas.
In all, Drinks Americas said it was awarded $540,176 in damages and $120,403 in attorneys’ fees.
