The Connecticut State Medical Society (CSMS) announced that gastroenterologist Dr. David Hass was chosen Wednesday evening as its 184th president.
Hass, 48, replaces Yale University School of Medicine ophthalmologist Dr. Ron Adelman, who recently finished his one-year term.
Hass is currently medical director of the Hamden-based PACT Gastroenterology Center, a division of Physicians Alliance of Connecticut, which is a partner of Hartford HealthCare. Hass also serves on the clinical faculty at the Yale University School of Medicine as an associate clinical professor.
Hass received his MDÂ from the medical school at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. After graduating from Weill, Hass began his residency training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He also had gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship training at the Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York.
