DPW wants overseers for two CT projects

The state Department of Public Works is asking proposals from consultants to serve as construction manager at risk on a pair of infrastructure projects totaling about $110 million.

The biggest of these is an estimated $70 million to build additions and renovations to Eli Whitney Technical High School, 71 Jones Road, in Hamden. The work includes 91,300 square feet of new construction, 140,000 square feet of renovations, and 35,000 square feet of demolition. 

The deadline for submitting qualifications to the agency is Tuesday.

In Meriden, an estimated $40 million project needs a qualified manager for work on additions and renovations to H.C. Wilcox Technical High School, 298 Oregon Road.  The project includes 76,400 square feet of new construction and 99,000 square feet of renovations.

The application deadline is Feb. 8.
