A fixture in downtown Hartford’s bar scene, The Russian Lady, is reopening under a new owner and a new name, following a shooting outside the premises last year.
Now called just “The Lady,” the venue is holding a grand opening this weekend starting Friday at 191 Ann Uccello St.
According to The Lady’s new website, it is “the premier nightclub in downtown Hartford,” with three floors, four bars and a seasonal rooftop lounge.
The Lady’s hours are Thursdays, 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Fridays, 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturdays, 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
The new owner is JCH Entertainment LLC, which is controlled by Jonathan C. Heggenhougen of South Windsor.
The Russian Lady voluntarily shut down in November after an altercation between security guards and a patron. After a brief reopening, there was a shooting outside the venue in December.
