A six-unit multifamily property in downtown Hartford has been listed for sale with an asking price of $1.45 million.
The property at 36 Lewis St. was redeveloped into apartments in 2015 after receiving financing support from the Capital Region Development Authority. CRDA provided developer David Elwell with a $300,000 construction-to-permanent loan for the project, which carried a total estimated redevelopment cost of $1.847 million, according to the authority.
The project converted the former commercial building into four one-bedroom and two two-bedroom apartments. The two-story structure, which dates to about 1840, has served multiple uses over the decades — including as a private residence, an upscale restaurant in the 1980s and a nightclub known as “Vibe” in the 1990s — before sitting vacant prior to redevelopment.

The building contains 5,252 square feet of living space on 0.12 acres, with a gross area of 7,809 square feet, according to a marketing brochure. The listing, marketed by Colliers, highlights the property’s proximity to Bushnell Park, the state Capitol, Dunkin’ Park and UConn Hartford.
