South Windsor fuel cell manufacturer Doosan Fuel Cell America has extended the partnership with a Swiss manufacturer to make it easier to install fuel cells at commercial buildings.
Doosan extended the agreement with Switzerland-based ABB through 2016. ABB has supplied electric modules for Doosan’s PureCell Systems since 2007, back when United Technologies was the owner of the South Windsor manufacturing facility.
The agreement continues the supply of ABB system harnesses that controls the power created in the fuel cells so they can provide energy to commercial buildings such as universities, hospitals, and data centers.
Doosan bought the South Windsor manufacturing facility off the auction block in July. After meeting with the new leadership, ABB General Manager Derek Monk said Doosan has the ability to take the company to the next level, which is why the Swiss company continued its supply agreement.
