Doosan bows $36M Korean production facility

South Korean-based Doosan Corp., which has a fuel cell division in South Windsor, said this week that it completed construction on its home country’s largest fuel-cell production factory.

The 35,000-square-foot Iksan plant, located in the southwestern portion of the country, can produce 144, 440-kilowatt fuel cells units (63 megawatts) annually. Doosan said it spent $36 million to build the facility.

“Combined with its fuel cell factory in the U.S. state of Connecticut, the company will be able to respond more promptly to global demand,” Doosan said.
