A national discount retailer plans to open in Farmington at 5 Mill St., the former location of a Walgreens store that closed in 2020.
It would be Dollar Tree’s first location in town. Currently, the chain’s nearest location is in West Hartford.
Lauretano Sign Group in Plymouth has submitted a sign application to the Planning and Zoning Commission, which is on the agenda under new business for the commission’s May 23 meeting.
The roughly 10,000-square-foot building at 5 Mill St. sits on 1.2 acres in the town’s Unionville section. It’s owned by 5 Mill Street LLC c/o Walgreens Co. and is appraised at $5.3 million, according to town property records.
