The Hamden branch of the state Department of Motor Vehicles, closed briefly as part of a $2 million renovation, will reopen Tuesday in temporary quarters, officials said.
Temporary space next to the closed full-service office at 1985 State St. will resume regular hours. The inspection lane also will remain closed during the renovation.
DMV said the work, to take about a year to complete, will add an elevator and remodel the entire interior.
