DMV: Stay away because of computer outages

The state Department of Motor Vehicles is telling people to stay away. The problem is its computers are experiencing intermittent outages.

The nature of the problem is unknown at this time. DMV technical staff as well as staff from the Department of Administrative Services are examining the issue.

DMV is saying those with license or ID card renewals should visit a AAA office. Locations can be found at the DMV’s website ct.gov/dmv/offices [assuming its working].

The department said anyone whose expiration date of a credential, whether license or registration, occurs today as DMV experiences this problem, will have their validity extended until tomorrow at midnight.
