DMV adds wireless internet access for customers

Soon DMV customers will be able to surf the internet, pay their bills, read email and watch TV programs on their smartphones, tablets or laptops while they wait
their turn.
The DMV in Wethersfield will offer free internet access through wi-fi. The agency plans to add the free service to other DMV offices around the state.
The use of mobile phones and tablets to access the internet is growing in record numbers. Mobile and tablet users who accessed the DMV website jumped
450 percent between 2010 and 2012, and mobile devices accounted for nearly 25 percent of the 6.1 million visits to the website in 2012.
A new report by Forrester Research shows that about half of U.S. adults going online now own a smartphone and two-thirds even own multiple connected devices.
Tablet adoption doubled since 2011 and is now at 19 percent.
