A psychiatrist with the state Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services was hit with a $1,500 fine for moonlighting on state taxpayer’s time for a private employer, state ethics enforcers say.
Jeffrey Gottlieb, of South Glastonbury, a principal psychiatrist at Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown, paid the fine for breaching state ethics rules when he used his state-issued computer from 2012 to 2014 to store data on unrelated tasks for his other unidentified employer, the Office of State Ethics said Wednesday.
In a separate but related personnel matter, Gottlieb was suspended from his state job without pay for 30 days, ethics authorities said.
Gottlieb could not be immediately located Wednesday for comment.
