A plan by two Fairfield developers to build a four-story, 18-unit apartment building near the Fairfield-Black Rock Station has been given the go-ahead.
John and Timothy Philbin, doing business as The Applicant LLC, proposed constructing it on a 0.31-acre vacant parcel at 1427 and 1443 Kings Highway, according to an application filed with the town.
The plans, which the developers changed from a previously approved proposal for 24 units with retail space, include two units deed restricted as affordable housing and 24 parking spaces.
“Due to this proximity to the train station and in light of the other adjacent residential developments that have occurred over the last few years in the immediate area, after careful consideration the Philbins determined that the neighborhood would be best served by the construction of a building devoted entirely to residential use,” the application stated.
