Developer proposes 12-lot subdivision in Southington

A local developer is planning a 12-lot subdivision off Marion Avenue in Southington.

Lepage Homes Inc., of Southington, and property owners 347 & 349 Marion Avenue Associates LLC, and Jerry Aldieri of Southington, submitted an application to the town in August.

The Penny Lane subdivision, according to the application, calls for the creation of a cul-de-sac style road in the Plantsville section of Southington at 347, 349 and 389 Marion Ave.

The land is currently vacant and zoned residential.

The project would contain single-family homes on lots abutting existing residential lots. No units are listed as affordable, according to town planning officials.

All utilities would be underground, and the 10.9-acre site would have 0.55 acres dedicated as open space.

The team is working with Cromwell-based engineers Hallisey, Pearson & Cassidy and The Bongiovanni Group out of Newington for surveying.

The application will be presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission at its Oct. 4 meeting.
