A New Canaan developer has bought two, three-story office buildings in New Canaan with plans to convert them into a 40-room hotel and an eight-room hotel with either a restaurant or retail space on the ground floor, according to property records and plans filed with the town.
Elliot Siderides, of New Canaan, doing business as Two Corners LLC, has bought one office building at 39 Locust Ave., and another office building at 49-51 Locust Ave. He purchased both adjoining properties, which together make up a 1-acre parcel, from F. Jack Liebau, of New Canaan.
Both properties have a total appraised value of $10.2 million and an assessed value of $6.16 million.
Redevelopment plans filed with the town include converting the building at 39 Locust Ave., into a mixed-use building with ground-floor office or retail space and eight hotel rooms on the second and third floors.
Plans for the other building entail turning it into a 40-room hotel with an outdoor patio and adding a partial fourth story.
Both buildings would still have the existing above- and below-grade parking.
