The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford has named a Detroit nonprofit executive as its next president and CEO.
Alise Dixon, most recently chief program officer for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Detroit, will lead the Hartford-based nonprofit, which traces its roots to the Dashaway Club, founded in Hartford in 1860. She begins the role on July 13.
She replaces Bruce W. Jeffery, who was appointed to the role in March 2025, but resigned, according to a spokesperson. According to his LinkedIn account, Jeffery left the organization in January.
According to an announcement, Dixon began her career with Boys & Girls Clubs in 2007 as a part-time dance instructor in Dayton, Ohio, and has held leadership positions at local clubs and with the national organization.
Most recently, she served as chief program officer for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Detroit, where she oversaw program strategy, operations and workforce initiatives. Prior to that, she was a national director for Boys & Girls Clubs of America, helping develop organizational planning and program-quality initiatives for clubs across the country.
Earlier in her career, Dixon worked for Boys & Girls Clubs of Amarillo in Texas, where she helped expand the organization from one site to 13 locations serving two school districts.
Dixon holds a bachelor’s degree from Wright State University and a master’s degree in education from Grand Canyon University.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford operates five clubhouses and two school-based sites serving youth in the Greater Hartford region.
