Citing growing Connecticut demand information-technology temps, Detroit information-technology vendor Strategic Staffing Solutions has opened its first Connecticut branch in Simsbury, its second in New England.
The company previously served the Connecticut market from its inaugural regional office in Boston; but in the last five months, the company says it has tripled its number of Greater Hartford consultants, necessitating the need for a physical presence in the state.
Strategic Staffing Solutions offer its customers consultants and temporary employees, typically in the realm of information technology.
The company will employ three staffers at the Simsbury office. The rest of the company’s consultants work at customers’ locations.
“S3 has maintained a presence in Hartford for several years, but with the recent increase in demand for our services, we captured a market share in this location and determined it was time to open a branch,” said Cynthia J. Pasky, the company’s president and CEO, in the branch announcement. “We have a strong customer base in Connecticut now and already have plans for expansion in the next six months to a year.”
To run the Hartford office, Strategic Staffing Solutions transferred Boston branch manager Kristina DiMartino. The company’s main business in Hartford is providing temporary employees to the insurance companies based in the city.
With the Simsbury addition, Strategic Staffing Solutions has 24 offices in the U.S. and Europe. The revenues for the 21-year-old company were $205 million in 2010.
