Hartford’s professional soccer team held on to 95% of its corporate partners this year despite the pandemic, the team announced today.
Hartford Athletic’s founding sponsors including Trinity Health of New England, Stanley Black and Decker, Cigna, The Hartford and Travelers continued to host team events and fundraisers throughout the season.
The team declined to disclose its overall corporate sponsorship revenue.
A total of 32 companies signed on as corporate partners for Hartford Athletic this year. The team also introduced the “Shop for a Cause” program this fall, designed to help local businesses impacted by COVID-19 get back on their feet.
Participating businesses in “Shop for a Cause” included Boston Beer Co./Hartford Distributors, Emily and Bean Boutique, Goodman Delights, Harvest Wine and Spirits, J. Restaurant, Just Be, Painting With A Twist, Parkville Market, Phantom Brewing, Root Down Power Yoga, Rush Bowls, ShopRite and Victus Coffee.
The team made the United Soccer League playoffs earlier this month in only its second season in competition and sold out all nine of its regular-season home games, although seating was limited due to COVID-19 restrictions.
As of earlier this month, there was a 2,000-person waiting list for season tickets to next year’s home games, according Jordan Charlupski, the Athletic’s vice president of revenue and strategic initiatives.
