The state says the swimming area and boat at Shelton’s Indian Well State Park will be closed this weekend for emergency repairs to the nearby Derby Dam.
The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) said the water level in the Housatonic River must be drawn down for repairs to the dam at least on Saturday and Sunday. The agency said it will announce later when both will reopen
The park’s grounds will remain open for all other recreational activities and parking fees will still be charged. All other state park swimming areas are open.Â
The nearest state park to Indian Well with a swimming area is Silver Sands State Park in Milford.
