An out-of-state dental group has grown its presence in Connecticut with the debut of a new practice in Bridgeport and has recently bought a former bank branch in Danbury.
Roseland, New Jersey-based Abra Health Group has opened Presto Dental in a 14,298-square-foot, one-story building at 3101 Main St., in Bridgeport. The office, which offers general dentistry, pediatric dentistry and orthodontics, has 29 dental chairs and employs 27 workers.
Abra 3101 Main St LLC acquired the building for $1.1 million in July 2023, according to the city’s property records. This limited liability company’s name indicates ownership by Abra Health Group, but the LLC did not appear in a search of state records. An email to the company asking about building ownership was not immediately returned.
Abra Health Group owns four All About Kids dentist offices in Danbury, Derby, Norwalk and Stamford that employ a total of 94 workers. The company said it is evaluating opening more Presto Dental locations in the state.
It recently bought a 12,517-square-foot former Wells Fargo bank branch for $1.4 million. An email inquiring about this purchase was not immediately returned.
Abra Health Group has multiple locations in New Jersey, including eight Abra Dental offices, four Garden Oral Surgery Group locations and two Pearly Whites offices. It owns seven Smiles 4 Keeps locations in Pennsylvania.
Abra Health Group was originally founded as ChildSmiles in 2008 by Drs. Brooke and Michael Skolnick in Newark, New Jersey.
