Veteran TV news broadcaster and “Face the State” moderator Dennis House has signed on as chief political anchor at New Haven’s WTNH Channel 8.
House will also host a new Sunday morning political show, scheduled to begin in 2021, and fill in as an anchor on day and early evening news shows.
“It’s been a great privilege to serve the people of Connecticut for 28 years, and I am super excited to be joining the News 8 team to continue bringing the citizens of this great state the events that shape their lives,” House said.
A longtime anchor on Rocky Hill-based WFSB, House co-anchored the station’s flagship Eyewitness News program at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. and interviewed state leaders on the CBS affiliate’s Sunday morning political show, “Face the State.”
House left his anchor post at WFSB-TV in September and announced in November that he would begin teaching digital media at West Hartford’s University of St. Joseph in January.
House officially starts at WTNH on Jan. 11, joining anchors including Ann Nyberg, Keith Kountz and Darren Kramer.
