The Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) says it is soliciting applications for at least three new licenses for medical marijuana dispensary facilities.
The DCP has issued its 28-page request for applications (RFA), which can be viewed here.
The RFA is typically issued when there is high demand, said Consumer Protection Commissioner Michelle H. Seagull.
“Our state’s medical marijuana program is incredibly successful, and is growing rapidly,” Seagull said.
There are currently 22,348 medical marijuana patients, and 807 certifying physicians and advanced practice registered nurses in the state of Connecticut. To date, nine facilities and four producers of medical marijuana are operating in the state, she said.
Facility applicants are required to submit detailed information about their business plan, site plan, financial information, organizational structure, security plans, compassionate care program plans and more. Dispensary facility licenses will be awarded based on the RFA responses, which are due April 9.
