The Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection will construct a $793,050 boat marina in Wethersfield to service up to 58 vessels.
DEEP on Wednesday received a $494,650 grant from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to build the recreational marina with seven slips and 51 moorings. The Town of Wethersfield will provide $298,400 toward the project.
Wethersfield Cover Marina is designed to be a destination for say sailors, creating a safe harbor destination and for those using Long Island Sound.
DEEP is partnering on the project  with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the state Department of Transportation, the Metropolitan District Commission, Riverfront Recapture and Wethersfield Cove Yacht Club.
