For the rest of the summer and part of fall, alcohol is forbidden at Torrington’s Burr Pond State Park, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection recently announced.
The three-month ban took effect July 2, after DEEP received reports from environmental police about “large numbers of people consuming large volumes of alcohol” and “an increased number of incidents,” DEEP Commissioner Robert Klee said in a statement.
