The Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection has delayed the opening of a handicap-accessible boat ramp in Bridgewater by nearly five month.
DEEP had planned to open the Lake Lillinonah launch on Dec. 31, but the early arrival of cold weather prevented the paving from being completed.
The new opening day will be April 19, the first day of fishing season.
When complete, the launch will include a state-of-the-art, handicapped accessible design with a two-lane ramp, erosion protection, a floating dock, solar-powered street lights, a restroom, and a drain to prevent runoff into the lake.
