Dec. 3, 2007 — OF NOTE

• The Dime Bank Foundation presented the Charter Oak chapter of the American Red Cross in Farmington with a $2,500 grant. Funds will support emergency services in communities served by the bank.

 

• Jonathan M. Freiman, partner at Wiggin and Dana in Hartford, received the Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association’s Paul J. McQuillan Public Service award. The award was given to Freiman for his work in cases involving the intersection of national security and civil liberties.

Kitchen & Bath Design Consultants in West Hartford raised $6,500 at its “Friends Helping Friends” Kitchen tour. Proceeds went to the neonatal intensive care unit at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

 

Boundless Playgrounds in Bloomfield and Hartford’s Camp Courant each received $1,600 donations from Dr. Barry Rosenberg, an orthodontist. Rosenberg matched his patients’ donations at his offices in Wethersfield, West Hartford and Canton.
