Day Pitney plans to consolidate its Individual Clients Department for central Connecticut in new offices at Blue Back Square in West Hartford.
The office opened this week and will house 12 lawyers and 19 other professional staff when it is in full operation.
The lawyers in the department focus mostly on trust and estate planning but provide other legal services to individuals and families as well.
Previously, the department was spread out across Hartford.
Four lawyers were working at the firm’s Hartford office, while six others were working at Day Pitney’s West Hartford office at 29 S. Main St.
That West Hartford office will be closed as a result of the consolidation.
Dane Dudley, a partner in the department, said the move will enhance the department’s ability to serve its clients.
“Bringing our central Connecticut group together in this single location will bring us closer to our clients while allowing us to continue to provide the highest level professional service,” said Jim Sicilian, co-chair of Day Pitney’s executive committee.
Day Pitney, the third largest law firm in Greater Hartford, is the latest company to take office space at Blue Back Square.
Nine other businesses have leased office space in the development, which includes both Class A professional office space and medical office space.
Other tenants at Blue Back Square include Hartford Hospital and Hartford Dermatology Associates.
