Q&A:
What do you do and what are your goals in your current job? I am a financial advisor and vice president with the Jorgensen Group at Morgan Stanley in Hartford. We are financial advisors to businesses, corporate executives, professional athletes and retirees. My job is to manage their money.
What are your goals for your community involvement? My goal is to connect and work with businesses, charities and public commissions to make Hartford and the state a vibrant, educated and economically viable region.
What's your biggest passion? My biggest passion is providing children with the opportunities and character development that sports and mentoring provided to me growing up. This is what the Hartford Police Athletic League and Mangini Foundation are all about and why I dedicate my time to them.
What are your future aspirations? I aspire to build our business to a billion-dollar operation and use our success and network to make our community a better place for our children.
What needs to happen for Hartford to become a more vibrant city where people work, live and play? We need to continue to invest in our infrastructure, housing and public venues to make the city attractive in the 21st century. We need to fix the broken budgeting and tax system. The most important role of our government is to provide public safety and essential services.
List four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty:
- I manage a successful practice at a major financial-services firm.
- I am dedicated to my community through multiple charities (chairman of the Hartford P.A.L., Mangini Foundation board, United Way investment committee).
- I've been appointed to multiple commissions (board of Capital Region Development Authority, vice chairman of Hartford Redevelopment Agency).
- I balance my business and community involvement with being a dedicated husband and father of three young children.
