David Bedard’s short stroll to ING

Windsor’s ING U.S. Retirement Solutions has hired David Bedard from cross-area rival Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. as president of its annuities business segment, effective Jan. 28.

Bedard reports to ING U.S. CEO Maliz Beams.

A 25-year financial-services veteran and CPA, Bedard is responsible for ING’s product, financial management and the operating performance of the fixed annuity business, the company said. He will also serve as a member of the retirement solutions executive team, collaborating on overall business strategy and direction.

Most recently, Bedard was executive vice president of global annuities for The Hartford in its eponymous home base, after serving as the chief financial officer of that firm’s wealth management business.
