The City of Hartford has hired New Britain transporter DATTCO to manage the Dial-A-Ride network senior and disable residents, effective March 1.
The city said it chose not to renew its contract with the Greater Hartford Transit District following the district’s inability to satisfy the city’s living wage ordinance.Â
DATTCO’s service will begin the day after the district’s contract expires to ensure continuity of service, authorities said. Contract terms were not disclosed.
“It is essential that our residents continue to be provided with quality transportation and it is just as important that those providing this service are compensated according to city ordinances,” Carlos Rivera, city director of the Department of Health and Human Services.
