New Britain transportation company DATTCO Inc. announced Thursday it has acquired Land/Jet.
New Britain transportation company DATTCO Inc. announced Thursday it has acquired Land/Jet, a Watertown-based bus operator, expanding its presence in western Connecticut and into New York.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition adds Land/Jet’s fleet of 10 buses to DATTCO’s operations. About half of those vehicles are expected to be retired and replaced with newer buses, according to the company.
DATTCO said it will retain Land/Jet’s existing employees and may add positions as operations expand.
Land/Jet, founded in 1983, has operated as a family-run business. Members of the Brady family will remain involved during the transition, including one executive who will take on an operations role with DATTCO.
Founded in 1924, DATTCO provides motor coach, school bus and transit services across the Northeast and is one of the larger privately owned transportation companies in New England.
