A Darien resident has purchased a prominent retail space in the downtown area for $1.5 million, according to public records.
Eric Glasband, of Darien, doing business as Eld Street Properties LLC, has bought the one-story, 3,944-square-foot retail building, at 873 Boston Post Road, from Andrew Bloom, of New York City, doing business as 873 Boston Post Road LLC, property and state records show.
Glasband, who is a trader at New York-based Wolverine Trading, according to his LinkedIn profile, declined to say what he planned to do with the property, which houses Darien Station Variety.
The building, which was constructed in 1952 on a 0.12-acre parcel, is appraised at $1.28 million and assessed at $896,980, property records show.
“I think it’s a great property with a great location,” said Tom Cavaliere, a broker with Coldwell Banker who represented the seller. “I think it has a lot of potential.”
