Danbury’s Union Savings Bank has commissioned three local artists to produce landscape paintings to hang in the bank’s downtown executive offices.
Union Savings, working with the Housatonic Valley Cultural Alliance, chose artists Diane Dubreuil, Ruth Newquist and Karen Simmons to capture on canvass the beauty of Connecticut’s scenery, town greens and streetscapes.
The initiative is part of a joint effort to connect local artists with the business community. Artists were invited to apply and submit up to 12 images of their work for consideration.
The artists’ works will be complete by Sept. 30 and presented during a public exhibition in October.
