Danbury’s ATMI promotes Ward to officer

David M. Ward, controller for ATMI Inc. in Danbury, has added the officer titles of vice president and principal accounting officer, the maker of wafer-thin components for semiconductors, flat panel screens and other electronics says in a regulatory filing.

Ward, 43, has been controller since October 2007, after serving six years as an assistant controller, the company said in its 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Before coming to ATMI, he was with Danbury industrial gas supplier Praxair Inc. as manager of planning and analysis. Before Praxair, Ward, who is a CPA, was a senior auditor for Ernst & Young LLP.

In connection with his promotion to officer, ATMI granted Ward 2,500 restricted stock units which vest 50 percent on the third anniversary of the grant date, and 25 percent on each of the fourth and fifth anniversary of the grant date.
