The public will get a chance Wednesday to comment on revived plans for a two‑building, 208‑unit apartment complex, previously withdrawn two years ago over city sewer concerns.
Tower Investment Group LLP proposes turning a five-story, 58,000-square-foot Danbury Executive Tower office building, on a 2.4-acre parcel at 30 Main St., into a 48-unit apartment building.
Plans also call for building a second, seven-story building, at 34 Main St., that would consist of a four-story, 134,000-square-foot, 160-unit apartment building over a three-level, 250-space parking garage. This building would also have 53 surface parking spaces.
A two-story retail building on the 0.2-acre parcel would be demolished, plans stated.
“This application is a resubmission of the very same proposed project which this Commission reviewed over two evenings of public hearings,” said Thomas Beecher, an attorney representing Tower Investment Group LLP. “As you know, due to the fact that there were concerns over the ability of the City sewer system to handle this project and the uncertainty of what financial obligations any upgrades might require from my client, we withdrew the prior applications.”
The applicant refiled the application with the city’s Planning Commission in late June after having “numerous meetings with City officials,” Beecher said.
