Former Danaher Corp. manager James J. Peta Jr. is the new director of MBA programs at the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business.
Peta, of New Hartford, has more than 40 years of experience as an industrial manager, the university said Tuesday.
Most recently a senior product manager for Danaher, Peta has been vice president of production for Pioneer Steel Ball in Farmington, and manager of manufacturing operations for Thomson Precision Ball in Bristol. Both are Danaher divisions.
At Barney, Peta will oversee student recruiting, develop partnerships with local companies to create job placement opportunities and assist in MBA curriculum development, among other duties.
He has been a UHart adjunct faculty member since 1973 and a part-time regular faculty member in the Barney School’s economics department since 2008.
Peta received his BS in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his MBA from UHart in 1969.
