Norwalk’s Xerox Corp. and Florida’s HealthPlan Services teamed up to help health insurance carriers enroll in health insurance exchanges, BizJournals.com reports.
The partnership also will simplify participation for new and existing members who will use the online exchanges to comparison shop for health plans, the Tampa Business Journal reports on its homepage.
Under the Affordable Care Act, each state will create its own exchange – Connecticut has one — with unique rules to enter and participate.
The combined Xerox and HealthPlan Services offering lets carriers comply with each set of rules and participate in any state exchange without having to build individual systems, a statement said.
HealthPlan Services, headquartered in Tampa, provides service and technology solutions to the insurance and managed care industry.
Xerox separately was awarded a nine-year contract with Florida Health Choices to build a health insurance marketplace.
