Hartford asset-manager Virtus Investment Partners Inc. and a Boston specialist in quantitative investment analysis and research are teaming up to oversee three new Virtus mutual funds, authorities say.
Virtus said Thursday that its partner, Newfound Research, will own an unspecified minority stake in Newfound Investments.
Financial terms of the relationship also weren’t disclosed.
Newfound Investments initially will oversee three new open-end funds — Virtus Disciplined Equity Style Fund, Virtus Disciplined Select Bond Fund and Virtus Disciplined Select Country Fund, Virtus CEO George R. Aylward said.
Newfound Research co-founder and Chief Investment Officer Corey Hoffstein will be the new funds’ portfolio manager.
Virtus, together with its Newfleet, Zweig Advisers and Duff & Phelps Investment Management units, among other, manages tens of billions of dollars of investors’ assets.
