Rocky Hill electricity and natural gas consultant Titan Energy New England has acquired the electricity and natural gas purchasing division of Utility Analysts of Canton, authorities say.
Price paid was not disclosed.
In addition, Titan and Utility Analysts announced Wednesday a partnership for the Canton firm to audit utility bills for Titan customers to lower their energy costs. Utility Analysts President Rachel Baugher will join Titan.
Titan doesn’t intend layoffs following the acquisition, said Arthur Goldstein, director of strategic planning and initiatives for Titan. However, Goldstein declined to disclose the combined headcount.
Titan operates in deregulated markets such as Connecticut, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, where utility customers have the option of purchasing electricity and natural gas from competitive suppliers.
With Utility Analysts’ procurement division, Titan’s service offerings and customer base in these deregulated markets increases.
