S&S Worldwide will totally ban tobacco use anywhere on the grounds of the arts, crafts and recreational products supplier’s Colchester headquarters and satellite center – even parked cars — starting Oct. 1.
Co-President Adam Schwartz said Monday his company’s smokeless policy will promote wellness among the 106-year-old company’s workers and a cleaner environment.
“Our new policy will clean the air,” Schwartz said. “That benefits everyone, and it’s good for business.”
Current designated smoking areas will be removed and associates will have to leave the company campus entirely to smoke, use tobacco or e-cigarettes, he said.
S&S said the no-use tobacco policy extends to its Norwich location and company-owned vehicles as well.
To help employees kick their tobacco habit, S&S said it is partnering again with its insurance provider ConnectiCare to offer the smoking cessation program, “Beat the Pack.”
