Stamford food-can maker Silgan Holdings Inc. paid about $250 million to complete its buyout of British consumer-packaging giant Rexam PLC’s plastic food-packaging business.
The deal was first disclosed back in early July.
Silgan generates about $3.5 billion a year in sales of metal food cans as well as plastic containers for the health and beauty market.
Rexam does about $210 million a year selling plastic bowls and barrier trays to the packaged-food and ready-meal market.
