Hartford, New Haven and Bridgeport lead three dozen Connecticut cities and towns getting more than $23 million in federal money to upgrade public housing.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Tuesday awarded the funding.
Hartford’s housing agency is getting $2.7 million; New HAVen, $4.2 million; and Bridgeport, $3.4 million.
New Britain will collect $1.1 million; Waterbury and Norwalk, each get $1.2 million.
In all, HUD is financing upgrades to 255,000 public-housing properties nationally.       Â
